What is a yacht vacation?

Our home during the trip is a modern sailing yacht or catamaran with cozy cabins, a spacious common area, and a true atmosphere of sea freedom.

Morning begins with the sound of waves and salty sea air. During the day there are turquoise bays, open-sea sailing, and passages between islands. In the evening the whole crew gathers for dinner, music, conversations, and beautiful sunsets.

On board there is everything needed for a comfortable trip:

  • - cozy double cabins
  • - shower and hot water
  • - electricity and 220V outlets
  • - fully equipped kitchen
  • - refrigerator for food and drinks
  • - spacious deck for relaxing and sunbathing

Life on a yacht is very different from a regular hotel holiday. It brings a special feeling of freedom, lightness, and closeness to the people around you. After just a couple of days, the crew becomes a small traveling community where new acquaintances, friendship, and bright memories come naturally.

We do not have a strict schedule or formal rest. Each day comes together naturally, in the rhythm of the sea, good company, and the mood of the crew.

Before going to sea, we buy food and drinks together so that the board has exactly what the trip participants like.

This is not just a vacation. It is a week of real life by the sea: beautiful, alive, and full of emotion.

Questions and answers

What should I take with me on the yacht?

The main rule is to take as little as possible. Even then, you probably will not need half of what you bring. The yacht has everything needed for independent life: bedding, towels, kitchenware, and basic household items.

You definitely need: passport, money, clothes, and personal toiletries.

Optional but useful: a driving license, especially with an additional motorcycle category, because island trips by car, motorcycle, or scooter can be wonderful. You may also want a camera, phone, or tablet. There is a 220V outlet on board.

What clothes should I take on the yacht?

Take deck shoes with a soft, non-marking sole and no high heel. They should not be slippery and should cover your toes. Also bring a second pair of shoes for shore.

Even in warm sunny weather, the open sea can be fresh and windy, especially at night, so bring a windproof jacket, preferably with a hood, and a sweater.

A long-sleeve shirt helps protect from the sun. T-shirts and shorts are the main everyday clothing. Sunglasses and a cap are also useful.

What additional expenses may occur during a yacht cruise?

The main trip costs are the yacht place and the flight. In addition, the crew usually contributes to a shared onboard cash fund, often about 60-100 euros per person. This fund covers provisions, drinks, refueling, and marina stays, and one chosen crew member keeps track of it. Any balance is returned after the trip.

Excursions, diving, paragliding, and other activities are paid separately. Everyone can choose whether to join them or skip them.

Restaurant meals, taxi rides, vehicle rental, souvenirs, and gifts are also personal expenses.

In the yachting world there is an unwritten rule: the captain does not contribute to the onboard cash fund. This means groceries are bought without the captain's contribution. Sometimes the crew extends this rule ashore too.

What is yacht etiquette?

On a nice yacht, people follow good manners and usually dress appropriately for dinner. Street shoes are not worn on board, especially inside the saloon. At the entrance, people usually change shoes or go barefoot.

If other yachts are nearby, try not to disturb neighbors with overly loud or intrusive behavior. When you meet them, it is perfectly fine to greet them with a wave or a few polite words.

For the trip, pack your things in a soft, foldable bag or backpack. A hard suitcase is difficult to store on board.

A crew that starts as strangers often becomes close friends by the end of the trip. If something bothers someone, it is better not to turn it into a public drama. Most likely, we will find a way to settle everything calmly.

Who else is going on the trip?

You will not receive a full answer to this question in advance. We respect the confidentiality of this kind of information.

You can learn who is traveling only when you are already part of the group. Some people openly share their plans, while others may have reasons not to do so.

Myths of seasickness

The issue of seasickness is often exaggerated. If you do not have problems traveling by car and you tolerate flights calmly, there is usually no reason to worry too much about motion at sea.

If you feel especially sensitive, remember a few simple tips: you can prepare your vestibular system before the trip with gentle head rotations; avoid too much alcohol and heavy food during the first days; spend more time on the open deck and look at the horizon; keep yourself occupied; ginger and lemon tea can help; seasickness tablets also work well.
